We offer to visit your cats, elderly dogs, puppies or small caged animals in your own home on a daily basis - a 'pop-in' service. Visits are usually of 30 minutes duration although they can be longer than this if necessary. Visits can include feeding (food supplied by the owner), cleaning bowls and providing fresh water, cleaning/changing cages and litter trays, basic grooming, administering oral medication and needless to say all visits will include giving them lots of attention, cuddles and play time (if appropriate).
Cats: This type of service is an excellent alternative to putting your beloved pet into a cattery as cats tend to get upset by a change of environment and routine and fare much better if left at home with their own surroundings and comfort. This visit includes cleaning out and topping up food/water bowls, and cleaning out the litter tray.
Elderly Dogs: This service is also appropriate if you have an elderly dog who is not fit enough for much exertion and just needs someone to let him/her out to 'spend a penny' in the garden or have a quick walk around the block just to keep the muscles toned.
Puppies: You may need someone just to check in on your puppy who may not yet have had its inoculations so to allow it to go out for a walk would put it at risk. This visit will provide loving attention and play and a visit to the garden to 'spend a penny' together with making sure that clean water is available.
Please note that it is not recommended that young puppies and kittens are left on their own for long periods as this can be detrimental to their development as well as being potentially unsafe. They need supervision and companionship when they are young so please consider this carefully when organising care for them while you are away from home.
Boredom/Stress Relief Visits: You may have a dog that tends to bark or whine if left on its own through boredom or stress and this can be very upsetting for the dog, you and your neighbours. Or you may just want to ensure that the day is broken up to avoid any 'accidents' in the house. These visits allow the dog(s) to go out into the garden and have a quick ball game or any other type of play they enjoy, or a quick walk around the block, whatever is best for your dog. Water is always checked and refreshed if necessary and feeding can be undertaken.
Small Caged Animals: This service is to check on rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, and birds to ensure they have fresh food and water, clean bedding and giving them some loving attention. Additional physical and mental stimulation is especially important for the health and well-being of rabbits and guinea-pigs so this service will include putting them out into a secure outside run, if available, for most of the duration of the visit.
